Hello Huffmans!

After the email about the Huffman family reunion being postponed until 2010, I thought a blog site might be a good way to keep in touch. This is a free site. There is no cost involved. So, when you have news to share with the Huffmans, pictures, or videos, email me at ashleyb306@hotmail.com. I'll be happy to add your information for all the Huffmans to see.

By the way...I'm Ashley Brown Williams. I am one of Betty Lynn's daughters (one of the twins).
So, I'll start off with a quick tribute to my grandmother, Grace Huffman, who passed away last Thursday. The memorial services were held on Sunday, and I thought it truly was a testimony to her life. It wasn't a sad event. Grandmother was 91 years old, and her old body was just worn out. She had made it clear she was ready to go. She had a strong faith and a desire to be with her Lord. The preacher at the service talked about her willingness to serve in the church and her openess to talk about how God had gotten her through so many things in her life.
She left her family an example of a Christian life that I would do good to follow.

Here's Grandmother with my little boy, Sawyer. This was taken November 2007.

On another personal note, my husband, Walker, and I found out yesterday we will have another little boy in November. Sawyer is 16 months, so we'll have two little boys very close in age! We're excited.

I included this picture just for fun. This is Sawyer last week.

This blog will only be fun if everyone will contribute. I think the more posts, the better! I look forward to hearing from the Huffmans.

I can think of no better blogger than a young mother, and I thank you for an effort I was unable to provide. Lead on...

I have often said that I didn't think of Betty Lynn as a mother until I saw her with one of you on her hip, the other tugging at her skirt, a phone in her ear, stirring a pot on the stove, and conversing with me. Sometimes we have to be hit with a truck; I know Betty Lynn will disavow any memory of this.

We all thought of your grandmother Grace as one of the most gracious ladies of the family, and her passing marks the end of an era for all of us.

Again, thanks

Ashley, I'm so glad you created the blog spot! I think this will be a fun way to keep in touch until we can see each other in person.

Thank you so much for posting the picture of Aunt Grace! I would have liked to be there at the funeral....I always thought she was the most gracious and kind lady!

I'm also glad you posted pictures of Sawyer....he's such a cutie!

I would love to see more pictures...of everyone! I'll post some pictures, too, once I figure out how!

Thanks so much, Ashley, for taking the initiative!

How fondly I remeber the family reunions at Aunt Grace's home. Thanks you for posting this picture and providing a place for us Huffman's to keep in touch with each other. Ashley, I have a few picures of Aunt Grace from the last couple of family reunions we were able to attend.
I'll send them to you soon
